Become a LEAD client

Business owners in Liberia

If you are a small or micro-business owner in Liberia, it is our mission to help you grow your business! We do this through business skill trainings, microfinance loans and ongoing mentoring relationships. Read more about our programs here, and contact your local LEAD office in order to register.

LEAD currently operates in Bong, Grand Bassa & Montserrado Counties and is in the process of expanding in Nimba County. We hope to begin work in additional counties in the coming year.

Become a Mentor

Business owners in Liberia & North America

LEAD’s strategy for helping our client businesses grow has three stages: training, microfinance savings and loan program and ongoing mentoring. A mentoring relationship develops between the LEAD staff and each client as they progress through our training programs, and then proceed to manage their loans.

However as our clients’ businesses grow, and as the strongest business owners graduate from LEAD’s loan program to bank loans, LEAD recognizes the need for more intentional, long-term mentoring relationships between a client and another business owner who is established and successful. Through visits, emails and phone calls regarding the challenges and realities of managing a business, we believe that strong mentor relationships play a critical role in helping our clients address challenges and weaknesses, push past barriers to growth and envision the future for their businesses.

LEAD currently has the capacity to facilitate mentoring relationships between our clients and mentors in Liberia or North America. Contact our staff in North America or Liberia for more information.

Become a Donor

Individuals, churches & foundations, in Liberia and around the world

Since 2005, LEAD has flourished through the generosity of individuals, churches, and various agencies and foundations, in Liberia and North America. In response to demand from new counties in Liberia and an opportunity to expand into agriculture, LEAD continues to expand and grow, and accordingly has been working to expand our funding structure and support base. Please contact us if you would like more information about supporting the mission of LEAD in this way.

For more info about how LEAD is funded and plans for long-term sustainability, please visit our FAQs page here or contact us.

Mission Statement

LEAD exists to empower Liberians in the pursuit of business and asset development, for the glory of God and the advancement of Liberia.

Prayer Calender

Download our monthly prayer calender here. The monthly LEAD prayer calendar is generated by LEAD Grand Rapids, and highlights the partnerships of North Americans and Liberians working together for the common goal of mutual transformation in Christ.

We pray for partnering churches, struggling businesses in North America and Liberia, economic conditions in both places, individuals leading the work, social justice issues impacting an area, and government officials. We believe in the transformational power of prayer to unite the body of Christ for real change, in terms of both poverty alleviation and the greater economic conditions around us.
